Still better than classic Mac OS where there was no link between the various parts, and if something got left behind, or installed with an older library version than some other product, everything depending on it just stopped working. So now you need App Zapper or similar to go in and find all the files with associated metadata when you want to uninstall. Unfortunately, virtually nobody (including Apple) used the installer system properly, and Apple eventually removed the uninstall feature from the Installer.
